It all depends on voluntary help

Criccieth in Bloom would not have achieved such success if it were not for the numerous volunteers who help with the many and varied tasks throughout the year. These include planting, watering, dead-heading, sweeping, cleaning, painting, weeding, helping with fund-raising and hosting events.

A misconception is that it is necessary to be a "good gardener" - not true!!! There are plenty of jobs for those who do not have green fingers..... Naturally we do welcome the experts and their knowledge definitely rubs off on the more amateur amongst us.

This photo shows one of the beautiful table decorations which our local florist created and donated for the Wales in Bloom Award ceremony.
Spring has lots of people emptying the tubs and planting.
The plants are all ready for planting around the town.
Our slogan is Growing the Future and we bring this to life by spending a considerable amount of time at the local school where the headmaster and staff are highly supportive of our aims. The children from several classes are given lessons in growing pot plants, hanging baskets and tub planting. Others are taken by their teachers to the centre of the village where we use boats and canoes as part of our floral displays. It is encouraging to watch the fun and laughter as these are planted up by the children and we know that many return regularly to check on the progress of their particular flowers.
The dragon boxes were made especially for us and one of our other supporters selected the flowers for the display and looked after them throughout the year. We think they make a grand entrance to the town, especially with the background of the castle.
Many people have generously offered their gardens and homes for various events. This depicts "The Pirates of Lleyn" which was held on a very stormy night!
Another garden which was opened to the public for us on a much balmer day.
The weather wasn't at its best for the Strawberry Fayre but nevertheless it was a convivial evening.
We belong to Coast Care and also do several litter picks around the town.
